Benchmarking

[column_row][two_third bg=]

Building users and owners are becoming increasingly aware of, what is commonly called, the ‘performance gap’. The energy performance of a new, low-energy building can be worse than a much older building.

Benchmarking a building at design stage allows for a realistic evaluation of the predicted energy performance, and will help you to make informed decisions during the design and construction process. Benchmarks can form the basis for setting targets for building operators and energy managers when comparing expected performance against similar buildings.

At fourwalls, we use recognised industry methods for reporting benchmarking data, such as CIBSE TM54 (design stage) and TM46 (operational stage). Benchmarking is very helpful tool as part of Building Performance Evaluation.
